IStalk

AL-Arcade original

Asymmetric multiplayer horror: one player is a giant Eye watching a procedural dollhouse, the others are Runners looting it in first person, slowed by everything they steal.

The story

Designed for 1 Eye against up to 4 Runners in 12 to 18 minute matches. The Eye sees the house in a 2D side view and attacks with a charged laser, traps and minions; Runners loot room by room until they can escape, and every item they carry costs speed. Dead Runners become the Eye’s minions.

Built in Unity 6 with FishNet, client-hosted, with every packet tunnelled through AL-Arcade’s own WebSocket relay so nobody has to open a port.

Hard parts cleared

  • A custom FishNet transport that carries game traffic over a WebSocket relay and keeps FishNet’s channel byte on every packet.
  • A lobby and relay server: six-character room codes without look-alike letters, role assignment, ready checks, host migration and stale-room cleanup.
  • One seed, the same dollhouse on every machine: 8 to 30 rooms over 2 to 4 floors with a connectivity check, and only the server spawns networked rooms.
  • Client-side prediction for Runner movement with replicate and reconcile at a 30 Hz tick.
